H & H CARAVANS - ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

THE PARK

Hoburne Torbay attempts to make the Park and its facilities as accessible to as wide a group of people as possible within the natural restrictions imposed by the low hillside position it occupies.

All entertainment and licensed areas, leisure facilities and shop have level access. In addition the indoor swimming pool provides a shallow gradient entry to the water. Assistance dogs are welcome on site and for the deaf or hard of hearing a hearing loop system is available in reception, the main entertainment lounge and in the bars.

The Park is able to offer a specially designed shower and toilet room which can be used by any guest who may find caravan shower and toilet facilities a problem. An accessibility information file is available at Reception containing details of accessibility at various local attractions and facilities in the area.

CARAVAN HOLIDAY HOMES

Hoburne Torbay occupies a low hillside location. The caravans are sited on concrete bases surrounded by grass. There are some slopes. Parking is in separate bays and not alongside caravans. All Holiday Homes operated by H&H Caravans are accessed by steps, falling  into two catergories:

CARAVANS FITTED WITH A SUNDECK are accessed by up to a maximum of five wooden steps on to the decking area which is approximately at caravan floor level. Some of these access steps are fitted with hand rails. All Sundecks are bespoke so measurements of treads and step heights vary. We have a limited number of caravans fitted with decking that are accessed from kerb level. where applicable the curb has a maximum height of 18 Cm  (7 ins).  

ON CARAVANS WITHOUT DECKING steps are fitted at each entrance door which comprise a rise of two steps either side of a central platform. There are hand rails fitted on the outside of all of these steps. As a general guide the height of each step is approximately 21 CM (8.25  ins) and measure 71 CM (28 ins) long by 20 CM ( 8 ins) wide. The central platform is 92 CM (36 ins) long by 76 CM (30 ins) wide.

All our Caravan Holiday Homes are of standard construction and have not been specially adapted in any way. All External & Internal door measurements are of standard caravan proportions. A small number of our caravans fitted with sundecks have proved popular with parties that include a wheelchair user for their ease of access.
